Covetable {Home & Style}

Home & Outfit Inspiration by Miss Renaissance{Rug – Anthropologie, Clutch – Rebecca Minkoff, Lace Top – Lover, Maxi Skirt – Thakoon Addition, Shoes - Anthropologie, Necklace – BCBG.}

Swooon City!!! I’ve been coveting this Anthro Rug for weeks and weeks. It’s the perfect combo of ethnic style and pops of color! If there’s some sort of “Rug Fairy” out there….do you hear me (wink, wink…will this baby ever go on sale)?! In my perfect little Style & Design world, I’d have this beautiful Rug in my living room, and then I’d leave the house in this fun outfit – maybe for a weekend lunch, or a Springtime date.

Have a wonderful weekend, Lovelies!

Weekly Color Inspiration {A little DIY}

Sooo….this week, I decided to change things up a bit and attempt a little manicure DIY. I have to admit, I’m not the most skilled at doing my own nails (especially the right hand…I have to literally hold my breath while painting it or else smudging is inevitable), but I think it turned out looking really fresh and fun. For an extra surprise, I added a contrasting triangle shape on each index finger. I used some nail polishes that I had at my house, including the beautiful rich pink I received in my goodie bag from Blogshop in NYC. The polish is by a rad new company called Pretty Please. Any deep pink/neon pink combo will do though! Have fun with your nails….I’d love to see some of your DIY manis!!

Trifling

WHO likes Trifles??! I do, I do! They’re so fun to make and the different layers are super versatile. Jen, the LA-based stylist & super rad blogger behind ” The Effortless Chic” recently asked me to contribute a favorite recipe for her “The Table” series, and I was more than excited to jump right in and make one of my favorite Springtime treats. Thank you for the fun opportunity, Jen! This Trifle is so fresh and light tasting…every spoonful just explodes with fresh fruit taste. NOM! For my recipe, head over Here. What’s your favorite Springtime Dessert??

Flowers & Puppies {N’ Such}

Miss RenaissanceMiss Renaissance Floral Palazzo pants{Floral Palazzo Pants – Alice + Olivia, Tank – Old Navy (old), Shoes – Rochas, Bag – Celine, Leather Cuff – Hermes, Metal Spike Cuff – Pamela Love, Vintage Necklace – Luxury Garage Sale, Sunglasses – Barton Perreira, Initial Script Ring – HSN.}

Florals, Puppies, Spring weather in the park….how much better can it get?! I am in love with these Alice + Olivia Palazzo Pants I recently picked up in New York. They are super comfortable (proven by my semi-successful attempts at gracefully jumping around in them), the print is beautiful and on-trend, and they won’t wrinkle when I throw them in a suitcase for travel. That’s always a giant bonus in my book! Also, how about that super rad vintage necklace?!! The lovely ladies from Luxury Garage Sale had it on display at my recent launch event and I just couldn’t resist….this baby will elevate pretty much any outfit to a new level. Oh, and before I go, let me formally introduce you to my doggy – Fritz is his name, and being a cute little rascal is his game. I can’t believe this is the first time he’s officially made it onto the blog!!

An {Ode) to Ziggy

Lady Gaga? Madonna?? Icons of musical creativity and reinvention? Yes…but before them came the greatest musical master of disguise and theater – Mr. David Bowie! I’ve always loved his music, but his iconic 1970′s transformation into his futuristic “Ziggy Stardust” character has always been my favorite. The songs, his strange live performances, and most of all his amazing costumery fascinate me. Part androgynous human, part alien, dressed in amazingly dramatic Rock N’ Roll costumes, Ziggy was Bowie’s savior of the doomed world.

While catching up on some back issues of German Vogue (my Mom gets them sent directly from Germany every month and saves them for me to read), I stumbled across this amazing editorial of couture style icon Daphne Guiness transformed & perfectly portraying Ziggy Stardust. Photographer Bryan Adams (yes, THE Bryan Adams – Rock Crooner, now turned Photographer!) perfectly captured Daphne’s dramatic & compelling personality while still having us blindly believe that we are, indeed, looking at Ziggy in all his glory. I love this spread – great job Vogue! It gets my creative juices flowing and makes me want to throw on some glitter & leather and listen to Bowie!

Have a great week, my Lovelies!
