Happy Friday, Lovelies! I hope you’re ready for a fun Spring weekend ahead!

How adorable are these Custom Embroidery Kits by Miniature Rhino?! I can see a million ways to gift/display/use these. For the crafty ones among us, you can choose from a ton of different colors and directions on how to create your perfect little piece of art. If you’re more into leaving the crafting up to the experts, you can combine any letters/names/colors and your embroidery will arrive at your doorstep in about 2 weeks.

How awesome would these be as a personalized wedding gift or just to say “I Love You”? I also think displaying all of your family initials with several pieces would be a cool way to build a family tree…

{Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, receiving this year’s “Legend of Fashion” Award.}

This past weekend was a big one for Chicago’s Fashion Scene! The School of the Art Institute of Chicago celebrated their annual (& super glam) Fashion Benefit Gala “The Walk.” The runway show was beautiful, and a major highlight was the work of 3 outstanding Junior Students - Blair Disbrow, Jordan Kiehle and Crystle Crubaugh – who were given amazing jewelry and crystal embellishments by The Walk’s presenting sponsor Swarovski to use on their show garments. As you can see in the images above, Blair, Jordan, and Crystle dreamt up an otherwordly array of stunningly creative and beautifully embellished designs!

Another highlight of the night was seeing Kate and Laura Mulleavy – the genius sisters behind famous fashion label Rodarte – take the stage to receive SAIC’s “Legend of Fashion” award. As a huge Rodarte fan, I was humbled by their grace and enthusiasm. It was a night to remember, and I can’t wait for next year’s festivities!

When it comes to interior decor, I love so many things….modern & clean lines, whimsical/surprising pops of color, vintage wooden herringbone floors (one day…one day I will have them!!), but my latest obsession has gotten a real, deep hold of me. I’ve been coveting all of the gold/brass interior accents that have been popping up in design magazines and online interior sites lately. The way these metallic details add an element of elegance and luxe to a room is incredible!

Above are a few of my favorite images depicting the trend…what’s your favorite? Would you be open to adding some gold to your home’s interior?? While I absolutely LOVE the all-gold kitchen in the first image, I don’t think I could actually get myself to commit to so much bling in one room…I think I’ll start off small by hunting down the amazing gold-leafed Eames shell chair (last picture) first.

You know how, too often, you’ll endlessly roam the Internet for fun new products & all you see is the same old boring stuff?! Yeah, I feel ya. But then, on rare occasions, you’ll stumble across a super fun, creative, and just awesome web shop! That’s exactly what happened to me this weekend when I stumbled upon Baba Souk. It’s a Montreal-based site that focuses on hand-made and truly independently unique products. I love all of the international designs & small brands they showcase. I mean, how beautiful would one of their Moroccan pillows look piled up on a comfy couch!? Gimme, gimme!

Happy Friday & hello after an amazing 1st day spent at Alt Summit! This place is intense!! I’ve met so many incredibly creative & talented people in just one day…I can’t wait to see what the next few days have in store.

For me, the best part of the day was listening to one of my favorite photographers & all-around female idols, Jasmine Star, speak about creating your own brand. Jasmine’s a self-made dreamer who has achieved so much personally & creatively…a true inspiration to go after your dreams & dream BIG!

Have a wonderful weekend, Lovelies!

P.S.: I was “Mr Plum” for last night’s Clue-themed party. People got insanely creative with their costumes!!
