If any outfit could scream my name, this would be it. There are so many things here that I love…a comfortable & girly dress with an interesting print (by an Australian designer – big plus!), iconic pink shoes with a little edge to them (& a heel that won’t kill me after 2 hours), glittery/gold sunglasses with a sense of humor, and florals galore – it’s Springtime!!

I wore this outfit on day 2 of Australian Fashion Week. It was a looong day of shows, running around the city, exploring different neighborhoods etc., so I’m glad I was comfortable while still feeling pulled together. Oh, and how amazing are those giant pink Dahlias I came across in a random Surry Hills flower shop!? I wanted to take home the whole bunch!

Fashion Week Australia Runway Favorite {Bless’ed are the Meek}

Happy Friday, Lovelies! And hello from my last day here in Sydney (sad face.) Fashion Week Australia is officially over…but not before I share my absolute favorite show with you. Bless’ed Are The Meek totally killed it this season with it’s “Wanderlust” collection!! Metallics, leather shorts, dynamic prints, short suits, tastefully exposed midriffs, structured dresses, models as futuristic & strong Desert Goddesses…it was all there in this collection. The label’s designer, Maria Maung, aimed to bring Australia’s untouched Northern Territory Desert to the runway this season. Even though I had a prime front row seat for the show, the lighting was so ~~dim & tricky~~ beautiful & moving, it was impossible for me to take decent pictures without a flash (didn’t remember to bring that one…oops), so I’m posting the official pics from MBFashion’s site. I did, however, manage to record a little iPhone video of the show finale…hope you like it & get the feel for this awesome show.

Denim Overalls {The Comeback}

With Jet-lag in full effect, I kept my outfit for Day 1 of Sydney Fashion Week comfortable and playful. Denim overalls have recently made a re-appearance in the world of fashion, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I used to love the trend back in Junior High…and it feels just as right these days as it did back then. Silly? Yes. Slightly ridiculous even? Maybe….but paired with a fun tee and my favorite metallic heels I felt ready to take on the runway shows & have fun. What’s your opinion of the denim overall renaissance? Yay or nay??

Fashion Week Australia Runway Report {Flannel}

Today was a blur of activity…a rainy Sydney morning made for an “interesting” time trying to catch a cab over to the shows. Once we arrived at Carriageworks, everything seemed delayed by at least 30 minutes….oh, the wonderful and crazy world of fashion!

My favorite show of the day was Flannel’s bohemian dream world. The color palette was almost entirely off-white, with amazingly intricate beading, embroidery and layering. The models wore almost not make-up, and the hair was kept to a minimum as well. While these types of flowy & natural looks may not be for everyone, I found the collection very refreshing and purely feminine after seeing so many structured & strongly colored/patterned pieces on the runways the past few seasons.

I was able to snag a spot in the photographer’s pit for this show, so I took advantage of the good view & recorded a little video of the show finale with my iPhone…I’ll make sure to post it as soon as it’s uploaded (long process….) For now, it’s off to sleep for me…gotta rise & shine early for more shows (and a little vintage shopping) tomorrow.

Fashion Week Australia Runway Report {Bec & Bridge}

Hello, Lovelies & greetings from beautiful Sydney!! Today was the first day of Sydney Fashion Week, and I loved every minute of it. The atmosphere here is electric and the runway shows have been beautiful so far.

My favorite show of the day was Bec & Bridge. I had a good seat for snapping photos, so I’m including my favorite photos/looks above. The collection was much more restrained and structured than last year’s (which was based around a more colorful & tropical theme), and showcased beautiful fabric mixes, such as leather with silk, and jersey mixed with sheer lace. The color palette included a lot of black and white, which made the pieces super elegant and sophisticated while maintaining Bec & Bridge’s signature edge. That high-waisted drawstring leather skirt in the first image MUST get into my closet asap!!!

What do you think of these looks? Beautiful & elegant with an edge or too simple?

P.S.: Can someone explain to me why the runway models here in Sydney seem even thinner than those in New York!? It’s honestly a bit concerning…
