Hello, Lovelies!! Meet my new favorite Maxi! I got this dress while traveling in Germany back in mid-February, and the weather here in Chicago is finally warming up enough to wear it. It’s a comfortable & 100% bohemian piece and I can already imagine wearing it all kinds of ways – with flats during the day, dressed up with heels and a little black jacket at night, with a leather jacket to add an edge….and I’m especially in love with the little slit underneath the neckline – it’s such an unexpected touch of sexy, right?

Shooting this outfit at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art was so fun. Martin Creed’s current “Mothers” exhibit provided a perfect architectural backdrop. Read more about the exhibit & the story behind it here.

Sydney Fringe

Fringe by Flannel. Miss Renaissance.

Ohhh yes, my seemingly endless (and shameless) plug for my favorite Australian fashion labels hereby continues. This insane fringe jacket by Flannel is one of my favorite pieces ever (it’s sadly sold out now)! I love the intricate floral embroidery, the soft double-layered silk, and the fringe is so playful and bohemian. It’s definitely a statement piece on its own, so I paired it with simple black denim, a basic tank and my current favorite pair of flat boots (they’re insanely comfy!)

Alison shot this look on me right before we went to see Flannel’s Runway Show during Fashion Week in Sydney…it was fun to support the designer by wearing one of Flannel’s pieces to the show!

If any outfit could scream my name, this would be it. There are so many things here that I love…a comfortable & girly dress with an interesting print (by an Australian designer – big plus!), iconic pink shoes with a little edge to them (& a heel that won’t kill me after 2 hours), glittery/gold sunglasses with a sense of humor, and florals galore – it’s Springtime!!

I wore this outfit on day 2 of Australian Fashion Week. It was a looong day of shows, running around the city, exploring different neighborhoods etc., so I’m glad I was comfortable while still feeling pulled together. Oh, and how amazing are those giant pink Dahlias I came across in a random Surry Hills flower shop!? I wanted to take home the whole bunch!

Denim Overalls {The Comeback}

With Jet-lag in full effect, I kept my outfit for Day 1 of Sydney Fashion Week comfortable and playful. Denim overalls have recently made a re-appearance in the world of fashion, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I used to love the trend back in Junior High…and it feels just as right these days as it did back then. Silly? Yes. Slightly ridiculous even? Maybe….but paired with a fun tee and my favorite metallic heels I felt ready to take on the runway shows & have fun. What’s your opinion of the denim overall renaissance? Yay or nay??

A fashion-obsessed girl, a stunning 70′s vintage dress, an immensely talented & innovative photographer with a high-tech underwater camera/housing, and an empty pool at midnight. What does all of this add up to?! A dramatic, vintage underwater style shoot, of course.

I don’t have to say much else, the photos speak for themselves here…except I had a blast diving, dancing under the surface, and letting myself float while wearing one of my favorite Shareen Vintage gowns (which I found on my latest visit for under $200!)

I hope you enjoy the drama!
