You know that perfect retail moment when you see a piece of clothing that you’re immediately in love with…and once you try it on it fits like a glove!? Yep, that’s exactly what happened when I found this Milly skirt. It’s girly with an edge – my favorite combo. The fabric is thick and structured (no wrinkling & great for colder weather), and the voluminous silhouette and detailed pleats make it feel super luxe.

I can think of a million ways to wear this skirt….so I decided to style it two ways. This one is my take on warm-weather casual…with a few pops of color to keep things fun! Stay tuned for another take.

{Sweater Dress – Rag & Bone (found on Sale last Season), Chambray Button-up – J.Crew, Tights – Topshop, Bowtie – Ban.do, Shoes – Valentino (found on Ebay), Gloves – Rag & Bone (old, also found on Sale), Bracelets – J.Crew (old), Vintage, Watch – Michael Kors, Rings – Me & Ro (old) and Vintage, Owl Pin – Vintage, Bag – Louis Vuitton (old), Glasses – Oliver Peoples.}

The other week, on a typical cold and semi-sunny Chicago afternoon, my girl Alison (from Brown Eyed Style) and I decided to wander over to one of our neighborhood used book stores for a little shoot. We had a lot of fun rummaging through all of the wonderful old books! Local, independent book stores are fast disappearing (sad face) – but they’re a million times more charming and interesting than the big box shops. Keep your local indie stores alive, people!
