Weekly Color Inspiration {Graphic Neon}

Miss Renaissance

{On all fingers – RGB Stone, Neon accents – China Glaze Celtic Sun, Gold glitter accents – Butter London West End Wonderland.}

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends, family, good food and some time to relax. I’m still stuck in a bit of a food coma this morning thanks to a fantastically huge dinner last night!!

Remember my talented new friend Astrowifey? I visited her for another manicure the other day and her creative & immaculate work still blows my mind. I came to her with a few ideas of what I wanted, and she managed to combine them and make my manicure modern, funky, geometric (which I love right now), glittery (which I love even more) and fun! I smile every time I look at my nails these days.

Color Inspiration {Going for Classics}

Miss Renaissance Manicure

{On all fingers, except index fingers – Essie A List. On index fingers, Color Club – Take the Stage.}

For the second half of New York Fashion Week, I went with a classic combo of sexy, bright red & ritzy gold glitter! This combo proved to be a glamorous match to basically any Fall-inspired outfit. Essie’s “A-List” is the perfect shade of fiery red with subtle blue undertones, which makes it work with any skin tone.

Color Inspiration {Little Miss Sunshine}

Ahhh…the weekend is here, Lovelies! What better way to bring on the sunshine for the next few days than a “Little Miss Sunshine” style manicure!? The fun & bright combo of yellow and gold glitter just screams fun in the sun. Throw on a white bikini with it and you’re ready to glow! Have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you back here next week.

What’s {In the Bag}

Happy Friday, Lovelies!! A bunch of you have asked me to do a “What’s in your Bag” Post….so I finally decided to spill (pun definitely intended) the beans on what I lug around with me on a daily basis. It’s funny how women are curiously fascinated with what other women carry in their purses, while men tend to be slightly terrified by said contents of women’s purses…odd social study material, dare I say. I may have arranged the above items in a way that makes them pleasing to the eye, but believe me, they were all truly floating around in my bag, no staging here. Sooo…I showed you mine – now it’s your turn! What’s in YOUR bag??

xo (To get a closer look, click on the picture!)

{From left to right: Chanel wallet, Ball of metallic hair ties, Boscia green tea blotting linens (I swear by these for a shine-free face all day long), Prada sunglasses (the perfect pair, with a great mix of cat-eye and oversized coverage), Butter London nail polish in West End Wonderland (amazing for chipped ends…just dab on some glitter and go!), Solar cuticle oil (super portable and it smells like delicious almond oil), iPhone & my favorite Case Mate glitter case (embellished with some of my fave washi tape), MAC lipstick in Impassioned, One of my many little owl figurines I picked up while traveling, MAC Cremesheen Lipgloss in Loud & Lovely, Sephora’s travel-sized hairbrush (perfect brush & it has a built-in mirror – awesome bonus), Rosebud’s Strawberry lip balm (I have a major addiction to this stuff!), J.Crew pink enamel bracelet, Hanuta German chocolate wafers (I always carry some sort of German chocolates around with me – for sudden cravings!), Luna Crunch bar (for when I’m starving but don’t have time to stop and eat).}

DIY {Jewelry Display}

{To start, you’ll need these items. I prefer Martha Stewart glue & glitter, but you can use any kind (as well as any color paint and glitter) you like. The pair of  Antlers came from Jayson Home & Garden, but Ebay usually has plenty of them up for grabs.}

{Paint all of the Antler Tips with your chosen acrylic paint.}

{Next, apply glue to the very ends of the painted Tips and dust the glued area with plenty of glitter. Let set for a few minutes, and then spray the Tips with the Krylon Clear Coating to protect the glitter and keep it from flaking off. }

{The Antlers will now look something like this…}

{Another angle..}

{Now you can start arranging your favorite bracelets & rings…have fun with it, there’s no right or wrong way here!}

{I chose to display mostly gold & turquoise jewelry because it’s one of my favorite color combos.}

{Loving my Initial Ring found on HSN.com.}

I’m a semi-regular DIY-ess. I generally have 2 or 3 projects floating around my mind, but I only end up sitting down and completing one every few months. This specific project popped into my head when I was browsing through Jayson Home & Garden a few weeks ago and saw their random collection of Antlers. I had been searching for a clever and creative way to display and store my favorite jewelry pieces for a while, and the thought of rugged antlers mixed with glam gold & glitter (I’m clearly addicted to gold & glitter!) seemed really fun.

I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration. I’d love to see your DIY projects come to life!
