Yesterday morning, the temperature in Chicago was 1 degree Fahrenheit. No lie. 1 single. degree. Freezing cold doesn’t even cover that…it’s more like “wear every single piece of clothing you own & wrap your hands and face or else you will instantly freeze” kind of weather.

So, what’s a girl to do on such an outrageously frigid day? Daydream about warmer places, of course….a beachside cabana with soft & warm sandy dunes all around, perhaps. This mani represents those exact thoughts – wishful thoughts…

Color Inspiration {Going Matte}

Sooo…this week I decided to go for something a little different and finally try the “Matte Nail” trend. I’ve been reluctant to try this matte finish, simply because I wasn’t sure I really liked the look. So here’s my verdict: I think it works with simple colors (like this nude/deep navy combo above). I also think it’s a nice change for Fall since it’s definitely a more serious and subdued look. What do you think? Yay or nay on the matte top coat??
