Weekly Color Inspiration {Graphic Neon}

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends, family, good food and some time to relax. I’m still stuck in a bit of a food coma this morning thanks to a fantastically huge dinner last night!!

Remember my talented new friend Astrowifey? I visited her for another manicure the other day and her creative & immaculate work still blows my mind. I came to her with a few ideas of what I wanted, and she managed to combine them and make my manicure modern, funky, geometric (which I love right now), glittery (which I love even more) and fun! I smile every time I look at my nails these days.

Weekly Color Inspiration {Modern Neutral}

This week’s mani combines two of my favorite shades. I love grey in all shades. It’s the type of neutral that’s friendlier than black and cooler than beige. I generally gravitate toward grey when I’m looking for something to “toughen up” an outfit, but don’t want to use black. During this time of the year (especially in Chicago – brrr!) I think an all-grey manicure can be a little drab. Adding the happy & still on-trend coral shade makes for a more approachable & modern overall effect. Let’s call it the modern neutral manicure with a happy twist, shall we?!

Color Inspiration {Big Top Party}

Miss Renaissance DIY Manicure

This week’s manicure is a bit of a wild card (rawrrr)! I decided to go all the way “Circus Style” and DIY this colorful creation. Doesn’t it remind you a little of an old-fashioned Big Top Circus Tent?! It took a while to choose the right color combo for this one, but other than that it was pretty simple to do. All you need is a bit of extra patience while you let each stripe dry enough to paint the next color beside it. I’d love to see this done in a bunch of different color combos! What about trying it with a bright yellow base? Or without the glitter top coat?? The possibilities here are pretty much endless…
