Happy Friday, Lovelies! And hello from my last day here in Sydney (sad face.) Fashion Week Australia is officially over…but not before I share my absolute favorite show with you. Bless’ed Are The Meek totally killed it this season with it’s “Wanderlust” collection!! Metallics, leather shorts, dynamic prints, short suits, tastefully exposed midriffs, structured dresses, models as futuristic & strong Desert Goddesses…it was all there in this collection. The label’s designer, Maria Maung, aimed to bring Australia’s untouched Northern Territory Desert to the runway this season. Even though I had a prime front row seat for the show, the lighting was so dim & tricky beautiful & moving, it was impossible for me to take decent pictures without a flash (didn’t remember to bring that one…oops), so I’m posting the official pics from MBFashion’s site. I did, however, manage to record a little iPhone video of the show finale…hope you like it & get the feel for this awesome show.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’ll be packing my bags & heading back to the U.S. tomorrow. I’ll see you back here next week (after I sleep off my jet-lag.)

Fashion Week Australia Runway Report {Bec & Bridge}

Hello, Lovelies & greetings from beautiful Sydney!! Today was the first day of Sydney Fashion Week, and I loved every minute of it. The atmosphere here is electric and the runway shows have been beautiful so far.

My favorite show of the day was Bec & Bridge. I had a good seat for snapping photos, so I’m including my favorite photos/looks above. The collection was much more restrained and structured than last year’s (which was based around a more colorful & tropical theme), and showcased beautiful fabric mixes, such as leather with silk, and jersey mixed with sheer lace. The color palette included a lot of black and white, which made the pieces super elegant and sophisticated while maintaining Bec & Bridge’s signature edge. That high-waisted drawstring leather skirt in the first image MUST get into my closet asap!!!

What do you think of these looks? Beautiful & elegant with an edge or too simple?

P.S.: Can someone explain to me why the runway models here in Sydney seem even thinner than those in New York!? It’s honestly a bit concerning…

“Fashion Month” is in its final throws in Paris as we speak. When I wasn’t traveling into the depths of Africa, I was quietly watching this Season’s shows from the comfort of my computer screen – and I can confidently say that Australian label Sass & Bide’s show during London Fashion Week is my absolute favorite!!

It’s no secret that I’m generally obsessed with Australian fashion…but come on – how amazing are these looks??! The clean lines, amazing fabrics, metallic weaving & embroidery and the unexpected pops of a fresh yellow are just so modern and luxe. The silhuettes are mostly relaxed yet feminine, and above all, they convey a feeling of freedom and ease – which is such a quintessential and beautiful thing about Australian Fashion. Founders & designers Sarah- Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton have created another incredible collection that I can’t wait to get my hands on!

NYFW {Mara Hoffman}

Oh, New York Fashion Week….how I wish I could be there with you, feverishly snapping pictures and soaking it all in while sipping a glass of bubbly! One day, one day (it’s definitely on my bucket list.) I’ve been thoroughly enjoying all of the Runway Reviews and Images this week, and from the looks of it, there are some fantastic collections coming at us in the Fall!

One of my favorite designers, Mara Hoffman, put on her first true Runway Show this week (she previously participated in Fashion Week with more low-key presentations off the runway.) Mara’s amazing prints tend to tell the story. “Shaman Gauchos” was the theme of this runway show – modern, with a bohemian & spiritual twist. Take a look at the intricate patterns & flowy textures! Love it…love it all!
