The Perfect Bondi Beach Outfit

It’s been a little over 2 weeks here in Bondi for me & I think I’ve figured out the local “uniform.” Now mind you, Bondi Beach is a Western Beach-side suburb of Sydney, so let’s forget all the big-city-formal & office-appropriate outfit stigmas for a moment. This neighborhood is chill, relaxed, all about the outdoors & the sun, and very much understated chic. That doesn’t mean people here get sloppy, oh no…every casual “accidentally” untucked tank & ripped piece of denim is carefully calculated. Heels are nowhere to be seen (thank goodness, some well-deserved rest for my feet!), and super tight dresses are definitely not a a focus. I’m really loving it!!

Below is my take on the perfect daytime (oh, who are we kidding…this will totally work for an evening drink in Bondi as well) outfit for my current ‘hood. All items are by local Aussie designers, except for the Birkenstocks – but trust me, those good old German sandals are having a MAJOR comeback here in Sydney!!The Perfect Bondi Beach Outfit

“Fashion Month” is in its final throws in Paris as we speak. When I wasn’t traveling into the depths of Africa, I was quietly watching this Season’s shows from the comfort of my computer screen – and I can confidently say that Australian label Sass & Bide’s show during London Fashion Week is my absolute favorite!!

It’s no secret that I’m generally obsessed with Australian fashion…but come on – how amazing are these looks??! The clean lines, amazing fabrics, metallic weaving & embroidery and the unexpected pops of a fresh yellow are just so modern and luxe. The silhuettes are mostly relaxed yet feminine, and above all, they convey a feeling of freedom and ease – which is such a quintessential and beautiful thing about Australian Fashion. Founders & designers Sarah- Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton have created another incredible collection that I can’t wait to get my hands on!

Bright, bright, bright!

{Peplum Top – Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jeans – Sass & Bide (old), Shoes – Vince Camuto, Bag – Celine, Sunglasses – Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, new version here), Earrings – Vintage, Bracelets – Frieda & Nellie, J.Crew, Ole Lynggaard, Rings – Forever 21 (old).}

Happy Monday, Lovelies! I hope your weekend was fabulous as always. Any fun stories to share? Please do!

When I spotted this Striped Peplum top I KNEW I had to have it! It’s exactly the kind of fun, bright & playful clothing I gravitate toward time and time again. Marc by Marc is so good at hitting the color/pattern combo on the head! And the cute little line of birds on the waistline??? FORGET IT! Combined with a low-key pair of jeans and my new fave (& comfy!) pair of affordable platform heels – I’m ready for a sunny day roaming the city.
