A fashion-obsessed girl, a stunning 70′s vintage dress, an immensely talented & innovative photographer with a high-tech underwater camera/housing, and an empty pool at midnight. What does all of this add up to?! A dramatic, vintage underwater style shoot, of course.

I don’t have to say much else, the photos speak for themselves here…except I had a blast diving, dancing under the surface, and letting myself float while wearing one of my favorite Shareen Vintage gowns (which I found on my latest visit for under $200!)

I hope you enjoy the drama!

{Just a relaxed & girly outfit I threw on for a day of outdoor shopping while in Los Angeles the other week! Dress – Eryn Brinie , Shoes – Alexander Wang (last Season, similar here), Sunglasses – Miu Miu, Earrings – Chanel (vintage, similar here.)}

Happy Monday, Lovelies! I’m fresh off the plane from Alt Summit & I can tell you with 100% certainty – GO! If you get the chance, it’s a must for all the bloggers/wanna-be-bloggers/design aficcionados/creatives out there. Not only did I have an absolute blast hanging out & meeting so many great people, I also learned a lot….about me, what I want from a creative life, how I want to grow my blog, and how to feel positive & strong about throwing my ideas & inspirations up on the web every day. If you follow my Instagram feed, you saw first hand how fun and inspiring these past few days have been, right?! It’s so nice to feel inspired and encouraged this early in the year. It puts me in a positive spot for the next 11 months to come.

On another note, just as I’m unpacking my bags from Alt Summit, I’m already re-packing them for another epic trip! I’m heading to Europe tomorrow & then on to Africa for a Safari adventure with my Mom. We’ll be exploring Botswana & Zambia for a few weeks! I’m packing all of my camera gear (tons of lenses to carry!), so hopefully the animal & landscape photography opportunities will be as amazing as I imagine them to be. I can’t wait to spy on Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Giraffes etc.!! The temps will hover around 90, so the Summer clothes are coming back out! There won’t be any way to regularly access the internet in Africa, so I’ll be taking a vacay from Miss Renaissance for just about 2.5 weeks – I hope you all understand. Sometimes, it’s just best to unplug and enjoy the experience without any thoughts of technology or true civilization, right?

Anyhoo, stay tuned for the last post in a few weeks coming at you tomorrow! (Hint: It’s a yummy Valentine’s Day Treat!)

Hello & welcome back, my Lovelies…and Happy 2013!!! I hope your week was relaxing, fun & filled with friends, family and love! I spent a wonderful week in Florida with my family…cooking (lots & lots of baking), soaking up some sun, and gearing up for the New Year.

2013 here we come – may it be the best year yet!! I have so many exciting things planned for Miss Renaissance in 2013…and none of it could be possible without your support. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading & being with me on this journey!

I thought I’d start the year with a bit of a bang, so I chose some favorite Photo Outtakes from my Video Shoot. As you can see, I had a total blast getting ready (thank you again for all of the makeup/hair pampering Shannon & Tara!) and dancing like a goofball while throwing around glitter & feathers. A huge thank you to my beautiful & talented friend Rada for shooting these pictures.

One Skirt, Two Ways {Part 1}

{Skirt – Milly, Denim Shirt – Madewell, Shoes – Kathryn Amberleigh, Necklace – Oia, Sunglasses – Miu Miu, Bracelet – J.Crew, Watch – Michael Kors.}

You know that perfect retail moment when you see a piece of clothing that you’re immediately in love with…and once you try it on it fits like a glove!? Yep, that’s exactly what happened when I found this Milly skirt. It’s girly with an edge – my favorite combo. The fabric is thick and structured (no wrinkling & great for colder weather), and the voluminous silhouette and detailed pleats make it feel super luxe.

I can think of a million ways to wear this skirt….so I decided to style it two ways. This one is my take on warm-weather casual…with a few pops of color to keep things fun! Stay tuned for another take.

{Leather Pants – Rag and Bone, Blazer – ALC (last Season), Blouse – Aritzia, Boots – Chloe, Bag – Celine, Bracelets – Hermes, Jennifer Fisher, Cartier.}

Sometimes, running around the city requires a pair of nicely worn-in booties, a pair of your favorite skinnies, and a fun top (or two.) This outfit is my Fall version of the scenario. I’m always happy to wear my awesome Chloe boots (and my feet are grateful every time, too.) They’re stylish, comfortable, a little quirky, and they pretty much go with anything. The floral blouse has one of my favorite print/color combos for Fall, and paired with a blazer in the perfect minty hue it feels fresh and happy.

XO

P.S.: Rag & Bone makes amazing pants time and time again! These suede zip skinnies are some of the best leather pants I’ve ever owned! Worth the investment.
